Camp Kate Kate: The Entrepreneurship Program For Little Girls Was Great!

Camp Kate Kate: A business school for little girls, far exceeded my expectations this summer.  My 7 year old (yes 7!) was part of Camp Kate Kate where she developed a product line, learned about branding, cost vs. profit, elevator pitch and toured various stores in the vicinity of Third Street Promenade.  All along, she learned that items in stores are not free – which was a great plus for us the next time we went into the Disney store or Justice (ha!).

Fast forward 2 weeks and my daughter can have a basic conversation with me about marketing!  Obviously, at seven years of age, we can’t expect them to know in full detail the core of a marketing campaign or develop a business plan on their own, but she was able to walk away feeling proud of herself and with a better understanding about the process of being an entrepreneur.  She is very excited about building her online store.  Look for Chatty Madi to launch her new line of Home Decor for Little Girls soon. Exciting!

Camp Kate Kate starts a second session on July 30th.  Her Review is so proud of these girls which will be able to showcase their work at the BLP ConnectHER 2012 Conference and Influential Event in September.
