Hollywood Half Marathon – Running Shoes & Fashion

So Saturday I went shopping for running shoes.  Quite frankly, I don’t even know what that entails!  I found myself overwhelmed with information and could’t figure out what shoe to get.  Soft? Light? Support? All I knew is that I wanted black and hot pink.  Color should be the last thing I should look at right? Not. I want hot pink and black.  Needless to say I did not find them.  I wounder if Nike, Addidas, New Balance, or any other shoe company has a pair.

Hmm..

While shopping for shoes, I began realizing that there are also tons of different running outfits. The ones I liked were spandex and crop tops, but that all has to do with how much pounds I shed during my training.  For now, I am thinking of something a little bit more like a t-shirt and some cute shorts.

The shoe hunting still continues… and now I have to find a cute outfit too!

Do you have any suggestions on any specific ones?

Would love your thoughts.

I get so irritated with myself when I remember that I promised to get in better shape as my New Year’s resolution, and since then have exercised a grand total of 6 times. But when I do, I like my New Balance sneakers. Unfortunately, I can’t speak to their durability since I sadly have barely broken them in.

I would ask the sales people for help on shoes. I think you want one with really good arch support.

In another life, I ran the LA Marathon. You definitely want to go to a running shop where the salespeople are all runners and do a little assessment on your gait, etc. Ask your local runner’s group for a rec. It makes a huge difference!

You should have them evaluate your shoe type. We all have different needs when it comes to the right support. They will watch you walk and see how your foot naturally stands. The wrong shoe can cause damage when doing strenuous or high impact activities. I love The village runner myself but you should be able to get an associate at any good store to do an evaluation for you.
Btw I think Nike makes a hot pink and black number : )
    Best of luck to you!

As long as they’re cute, who cares about comfort! Just kidding. I like Nike running shoes.

I recently bought pink and grey Nike’s. I swear they had a pink and black one too….. I had no idea what I was doing. I just knew I wanted lightweight and pretty colors. They have worked great thus far!

I don’t know much about running shoes except that they should be supportive. And an outfit….I would suggest one that is comfortable and has some type of moisture wicking to keep you cool and dry
