Sharing Some Local Love on Valentine’s Day
So here you are just a few days away from Valentine’s Day thinking you want to find something different, perhaps something unique for your love, but maybe you’ve waited too long. Don’t despair and don’t run to the drug store to pick up a box of chocolates that was made in 2011.
If you haven’t noticed, the artisan craft world is exploding all around us (and that’s a good thing). It’s no coincidence that the focus on buying American and supporting local businesses is traveling hand in hand with the exciting focus on the handmade. What a perfect love story and what a perfect time to discover (if you haven’t already) UNIQUE LA. UNIQUE LA’s Local Love event will be held on February 11 & 12 at the California Market Center in Downtown LA.
UNIQUE LA is the brainchild of designer and “media maven” Sonja Rasula. Since 2008, Sonja and her team have produced an amazing show that showcases hand picked local artisans and designers and puts all these unique products into one place. The show is a blast to attend too. The DJ curated music gets you in the mood; the photo booth by Oh Snap Studios Photo Booth gets you and the kids laughing; the café and artisan food booths keep your tummy happy; and the free (!) beverages keep you from getting dehydrated. It’s the perfect shopping environment and totally worth a trip to Downtown.
Oh yes, the shopping! From beautiful jewelry and accessories to clothing and home décor to fun toys for the kids, you are bound to find something special for your someone special. Buy something unique for yourself while you’re at it – I know I will!
And in the interest of full disclosure, I hope you’ll stop by and visit me at the Eden Condensed booth (#122) where I’ll be selling little gardens and terrariums in vintage and vintage inspired containers. I look forward to meeting all of you!
